How this all came about

What would convince me, an elementary librarian mom of two boys, to suddenly want to buy a camper and set off to see the United States?
A. Turning 40
B. The death of our friends 9-year-old daughter from Leukemia complications
C. Stress in the workplace
D. A desire to have my children to experience some of the National and State Parks
E. All of the above

Forty loomed at me and brought me to tears, literally. I have always taken my birthday’s with easy but this number was suddenly scaring me. There is no doubt that this was a stressful school year at work. I have been an elementary school librarian for 15 years and this one easily goes down at being the worst in my teaching career. It has always been a dream of mine to take my boys around to see some of the hundreds of National and State Parks in our country. When I was younger my mom did that for my older sister, younger brother, and I and I wanted a similar experience or my children, just minus the Dionne Warwick tape. What better way to see our great country than from car and camper!

Then there is the passing of our friend’s daughter. Leah had been fighting Cancer for 5 of the 9 years of her life. She had beaten Neuroblastoma but then Leukemia came into the picture. In a matter of 48 hours she was gone. It hasn’t been a week since her funeral but I still see the last screen in her photo montage. Live your life for Leah, she’s watching.

All of these factors have recently molded me into the “Campbrarian”. Lover of travel, books, and National and State parks. My goal is to buy a travel trailer that I can tow behind my SUV. The boys and I will take off in it over the summers and go on some grand adventures. My goal is to use social media and diary entries to record my journey and also share my knowledge of books. I would like to recommend some book titles and reading ideas for families who are traveling with their children. My huge goal would be to work with one of the big chain campsites to offer their guests a “Little Free Library” on their property.

So if you guessed E, then you are correct!
